I've been here since 2007 and I still can't find anything with the search function. I do better by leaving PAFOA and using a different search, like searchlock or Yahoo, I can usually find what I'm looking for here by searching from the "outside".

it's a dash of duplicate topics and a dash of "cant find -x- topic i read a week ago" mixed with a helping of "why does this topic even exist" for when you find one of "those"...
i always forget to select forum in the search and instead it searches all of google instead of poofa.

I can never find anything, no matter how I search. I've looked for the Friday Free For All thread a few times today and haven't been able to find it. I'll do better by searching through my deleted emails to find a notification of a new post in the thread from a week or two ago. Not just a specific post, the whole damn thread is avoiding detection.

i had to travel to the lounge, then ctrl+f on page one and two to find it.

this forum is massive, hugely bigely massive. i've actually set it to hide topics inactive for more than 2 months or some odd date just to shrink it down. mostly just browse "new topics"

Hi , Long time gun owner . Just started going through my parents house An digging all the new in box guns as well as gun I had in closet 30 years ago I bought as a kid. Thought go local and have a place to ask the dumb questions . I've shot for years but in depth knowledge I have not . I have a Remington 700 bdl 222 new in box and that will probably be the first I ask about . From Clearfield County

Welcome Hackerjoe. As you've noticed already there is some bantering between people who have gotten to know each other. There are many who have been here who "don't get along well with others", as some of us old farts remember from report cards in grade school. You'll find them everywhere but the moderators here seem to be pretty good at keeping them under control or getting rid of them.

Like you, I found this site looking for gun show information about 10 years ago, I'm still here and liking the friendships I've made during that time. (Not just online friendships, I've met some really great people in person through communicating with them here). There is a lot of good information to be had here, but as with all internet activity, there is a certain amount of bullshit to be expected. It shouldn't take you very long to learn who is full of bullshit and who isn't.

Enjoy your newfound friends, we're glad to have you.
