While I cannot entirely fault someone for settling out of court, I can only feel a bit saddened when it happens as it does not set clear precedent for the future citizens to refer back upon and only ends up costing taxpayers money vs. punishing the individual involved. It just gets brushed off as a 'business expense' and I don't feel it does a lot of good outside of monetary compensation to the individual involved.

At the time, I had 3 choices:
1. proceed to trial pro se;
2. settle out of court;
3. drop the matter.

The civil suit aside, I made GREAT efforts to prosecute these rogue cops criminally. The sheriff refused to arrest them, the not-so-grand jury refused to hear me, the state police laughed at me, the feds wouldn't even talk to me.

First off this matter does not lose its validity just because its 4years old, cause we live in a nazi state. Second off that was a pretty funny joke the whole batman thing that's pretty original (in the damn 70's) boy that Adam West is dashing huh!
