"Unread" resets after viewing one message

I don't recall if I've asked about this before. I have the problem intermittently; it's been bad lately.

I usually start reading here by going to "Settings" and checking the "Subscribed Threads with New Posts" tab. I read the new messages in a thread, then go back to see what other threads have new posts.

Lately (and sometimes in the past) after reading one or a few threads with unread messages the system resets and marks everything as read up until now. It doesn't even show the unread threads in the Subscribed Threads with New Posts tab anymore. I have to go into Today's Posts to hunt for the threads I've subscribed to.

Is it just me or does this happen to others?

Yes, I notice an issue with the "View first unread" option in new posts where I may close the PAFOA site and upon re-open, it's been re-set, sometimes to somewhere a few pages in even though I have gone through several more pages. When I get to the end of the thread again, it may or may not be an actual unread post from my last look.

Try using the quick links instead of going into your settings.
This seems to cut down on the bugs for me.

When I load World of Tanks, I have to close every other app that I'm running, or else it won't work right. When I close it and open PAFOA, I notice that it resets all of the unread posts of my last session.

I've reduced the problem (I don't think it's eliminated) by disabling Adblock, Ghostery, and Privacy Badger for PAFOA. I think something about how one or more them block trackers was also causing a session reset when I clicked through from Settings to a different page and then clicked the "Settings" link again (instead of using the browser's Back button, which didn't have the same effect).
