Rode my motorcycle to Split Rock. Nice day for a ride. Picked up a few things I wanted at the show. A win-win. In fact, big surprise...after all these years, there was no annoying $1 toll on Mosey Road!

We did attend this show Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 pm and had a few remarks:

    1. Only a few sellers of military battle rifles (Trapdoor Springfield, Krag, 03, 03-A3, Garand). Like in the past, some are not posting their prices, so you don't have a clue what they're asking for a piece, unless you ask.

    2. The most prolific items sold BY FAR were assorted components for the Ken-doll build equivalent of the AR-15 pistol. Who needs a Barbie when you have a build like this to play with??? At least 40-50 venders had uppers, lowers, barrels, triggers, parts, etc. I'd even venture to say that if you are a gunshop owner and haven't already addressed the requirements of this market, well you've missed the early adopters, and the early majority.

    3. During the time we were there, I saw no lines at ammo sellers, powder sellers, etc. Seemed to have a lot of everything to sell close to "normal" prices - but then again, perhaps many of those who came looking long-ago purchased for their requirements. In fact, by 2:00 pm at the furthest lane, you could have thrown a bowling ball 250 feet down the aisle and not hit anyone.

    4. Hotdogs were great for two bucks each and so was the beef jerky.

    5. Really looked hard for something that rated in the gotta have category but it wasn't at this show. So we settled for 40 stripper clips for the O3A3 for $60, and a nickel-boron BCG in .223 for $175.
