Do you guys still consider steel jacketed ammo the same as steel core?

Our ruling on the steel core/steel jacket ammo has not changed. It was decided not to be changed due to the fact that it eliminates the guessing on what ammo is safe to shoot without damaging our steel.

We had an issue last year where 2 targets were damaged but couldn't prove who damaged them. We have since decided that our steel will be painted by the RO after each shooter. So if there is any damage the shooter will be charged the fine.

We do not have the time to check everyone's ammo or to test all types and brands of ammo.

Quoted here is from our rule book:
3.4 Ammunition containing tracer, incendiary, armor piercing, steel jacketed or
steel/tungsten/penetrator core projectiles is unsafe and prohibited.

3.7 Use of any unapproved ammunition as defined in Section 3 will result in a $200.00 fine per
    target engaged.

3.7 is incorrect and should read, Use of any unapproved ammunition as defined in section 3 will result in a $200.00 fine per target damaged.

This rule will be amended and updated on the website and future printed copies available at registration. It is the shooters responsibility to make sure that the ammunition they are using will not damage the club steel.
