S&W 5906
Anyone have experience with the S&W 5906? Good, bad?

Re: S&W 5906
I have a 4006, which is the same gun but chambered in 40S&W and I absolutely love it.
Easiest slide to rack ever, shoots soft for the caliber, looks great. The only complaint I'd have is that it's a lad large for me, but I keep it at home or take it the range only.Galations 6:9...And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Was a carry gun for 100's of different police departments. Excellent Gen 3 S&W weapon. Can't go wrong.
I already have a 4506,1006, and a 4006. Just waiting on one to pop up at my LGS to finish off the collection.www.Steelvalleycasting.com is your new home for coated bullets and custom ammo.

Re: S&W 5906
They certainly have their following which reflects their resale value. I was surprised at the high trade in I received from a gun store on my clean 6906.

Re: S&W 5906
I have a good deal of rounds down range on my buddy's 6906, it's a really nice shooting gun. He's had it for many years and never had any trouble with it. Unless you are getting a deal on it or really want it, I personally can't see spending the cash over a Glock19 (or the like) since they are somewhat comparable in size but with less capacity with the smith. I've only shot the alloy version, so I can't comment on the weights vs. a Glock. I'm sure the figures are out there..... The 6906 was relatively light from what I remember.

Can't beat those Gen 3 Smith and Wesson's! If it's in great shape and the price is right - I'd jump on it. $375-$425 is about average from what I have seen. Less than $375 in great shape buy quickly

I am about to sell my 6906. Outstanding pistol and I would keep it but I am more into rifles.

Re: S&W 5906
I never really cared for the alloy series of guns. Not that they were bad in any way but there is something about a full steel gun that just makes it more desirable.
