Gander Mountain Coming to Monroeville PA - Spring 2016

I hadn't seen any mention on here or elsewhere of this new location. I had no idea they were opening one over this way.
One night about a week ago my wife was listening to the scanner and said "Gander Mountain in Monroeville is on fire."
I informed her that there isn't a Gander in Monroeville - only Dunham's and that other place that is dead to me. "They must have said the wrong name", I replied.

They said it again and gave the address. I looked it up on the map and Googled "Gander Mountain Monroeville".
The address on the map is the site of a vacant furniture store and I found this article online so it looks like they must be renovating it and getting ready to open soon.

Nation’s fastest-growing outdoors retailer opening another Pennsylvania location in 2016

St. Paul, MN -(AmmoLand.com)- Springtime will bring a new and exciting retail opportunity for outdoors enthusiasts in western Pennsylvania.
Gander Mountain, the nation’s largest and fastest-growing network of outdoor specialty stores, announced today it will open another Pennsylvania location in Monroeville in the spring of 2016.

“We have been a part of the state’s retail scene for many years, so people in Pennsylvania know Gander Mountain is the place to go for outdoors enthusiasts who are seeking the best selection, service and value,” said David Pratt, Gander Mountain’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are happy to bring a new Gander Mountain store to Monroeville and greater Pittsburgh, where outdoors traditions run deep and are passed down from generation to generation. We’re looking forward to giving more people the chance to experience all that Gander Mountain offers.”

The newest Gander Mountain store will be located in an existing 80,000-square-foot facility at 4680 Old William Penn Highway, in the Monroeville Plaza shopping center, just west of the junction of William Penn Highway and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. It will be the 12th Gander Mountain location in Pennsylvania, joining existing stores in Chambersburg, Erie, Greensburg, Harrisburg, Johnstown, Moon Township, Scranton, Washington, Williamsport and York, and a recently-announced store in Warrington Township also slated to open in the spring of 2016.

I've watched it's progress over the last few months. Although I'm not a huge fan as they are on the high side but the option to go 5 minutes from my house is nice should I need something.

I'd imagine the grand opening should have some decent deals.

was just in the century 3 gander the other day looking at ammo and left with out any....

They will run sales from time to time.. And I have picked up Ammo even 22lr at some good prices
