1. HAVE A PROPER MINDSET & MOTIVATION
2. HAVE CURRENT & COMPLETE HANDGUN TRAINING
3. UNDERSTAND HANDGUN LAWS & REQUIREMENTS IN YOUR STATE & JURISDICTION
4. CARRY REGULARLY- NOT OCCASIONALLY
5. DO NOT FREQUENTLY CHECK & ADJUST YOUR CARRY HANDGUN
6. PRACTICE WITH YOUR SELF-DEFENSE AMMO & CARRY GUN
7. USE A PROPER HOLSTER
8. USE A PROPER GUN BELT
9. WEAR PROPER CLOTHING & COVER GARMENTS
10. ALWAYS BE TOTALLY AWARE OF YOUR SITUATION & ITS VARIABLES
11. THOROUGHLY KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY OPERATE, HANDLE, & MAINTAIN YOUR HANDGUN
12. REGULARLY PRACTICE… PRACTICE… PRACTICE WITH SKILL DRILLS & SNAP CAPS

Sounds good , but I'd add;
13. If you ever need to draw or use your weapon , don't talk to police without a lawyer!I don't speak English , I talk American!

I saw a guy the other day that may have been OC. He was wearing a sweatshirt with the elastic at the bottom that would cover half his fobus if he pulled the shirt down all the way. He was constantly adjusting and touching his gun and holster. I'm guessing whatever belt he was using wasn't working with his sweat pants too well.
Let's not forget there are still species of tropical penguins living in the Galapagos.

Sensible advise. Unfortunately TV and the movies have convinced John Q. Public (including jurors and some cops) that the only people who "lawyer up" are either guilty of/or hiding something.
Sad that exercising your rights can be a double edged sword. It sucks. Thanks Hollywood.
