Default Well I forced my hand to pull the trigger.

Well I did it. I needed to make a break from the 45 gap. As ammo was too expensive. I sold the glock 38. So I have narrowed some choices:

    Glock 30SF
Charles daly m-5 commander (by Bul)
    Springfield loaded
    PT1911
    Charles daly efs

Voluntary transactions are the only moral kind.

i just picked up a xd 45 service model and so far it's great. much better than the 40 or 9mm in every respect.

I have fired the XD Service model and was quite fond of it. The recoil was very manageable and the "pointability" of it was also next to perfect for my hand/grip. At least check one out.

I picked up a used XD45 service for 380 a couple months back I love it, it matches my XD9. BTW if you notice the XD9 has a hogue grip on there. with the .45 it fits my hand better I dont need it on that one with a little thicker grip it feels great in my hand. I needed a little more meat on the 9 to fit in my hand.

I've heard mixed reviews of the pt1911. Alot of people love them, and you can use the money you save on more ammo.

I think an XD would also be a good choice. The g30 is a compact, and unless you use the extended mags I don't think it would be good for a dude with big hands.

Keep your eyes peeled for good deals on used 1911's. Lycan was telling me he picked up his Kimber for $400 used. You never know, you might come across a gem.

Just check out my avatar to figure out my suggestion. Too small? How's this?

My prized possession. Gets "oooohs and ahhhs" everywhere I take it. Very accurate out of the box and the cool factor is off the charts from the rest on your short list.
