Every time we file a Form 4 for a customer we call the NFA Branch around 30 days after filing to make sure it's in pending status so we know it's been logged in and now the wait begins... so we mailed one the last week of December so I called on Friday to verify it's been logged and the woman said, "We are just now logging in the Form 4's from August so I couldn't tell you if it's here or not." WOW, that really surprised me... so instead we went through the check registry and found the check number for that Form 4 and then checked the bank statement, the ATF did the deposit check. I'm interested in seeing how long the wait is for customers filing in the last few months.

Oh ya they are now way behind, hopefully by next year wait times get back under 6 months.

I expected to see this and was surprised that they were still running around 8 months. I was figuring that max wait time was going to be much closer to 18 before we started to come back to earth. I don't mind waiting six months. I hate the thought of 18 or so. I'm hoping I'm wrong

I filed on July 7, 2016 and the ATF cashed the check within 30 days of receiving it. I should charge THEM interest.

Got an email Friday that my form 4 was approved. Ordered April 6th from silencer shop. Check was cashed for it on May 17th. Approval date ? probably sometime late January. I will pick it up this Wednesday and see the exact date then.

Haha 30 days, I sent one Feb 2nd, it cleared my bank by Feb 6th and there was mailing time, and a weekend in there. Its like they open the envelope take the check out and throw them in a pile.

I pulled the trigger on 3 Cans last year.
1st went pending 4/8/2016 and got it back 231 days later.
2nd went pending 5/20/2016 and I'm now at 270 days.
3rd went pending 7/6/2016. I'm 223 days and believe this one will be the longest wait of the 3, but sure hope it doesn't pass 300 days.

Seems no one is waiting longer than 250 days. I'm starting to think my paperwork got rejected on my second can... You would think I would know how to fill these out considering I've already done 15 stamps.

Have you called atf? I submitted a F4 on 5-20-16 and the stamp arrived on 12-20-2016.

Ugh. I am in the process of purchasing an Auto Ordnance M1SB - currently back-ordered so I don't have the SN yet to submit the Form 4. Looks like I'm in for a long wait.
