Philly Auto Show
I'll keep it short & simple:
1) do they have an anti-CONCEALED carry policy?
2) do they have a way to enforce it?

Re: Philly Auto Show
Every time I have been to the Convention Center for the Auto Show, they have armed security on-site. I have never had to go through a metal detector, but I haven't been there since last year. I have also never seen a sign, but I don't really look for them, either.
A quick call to the Convention Center itself got an equally quick answer:
"Does the Convention Center have a firearms policy?"
"Yes, you're not allowed to bring them in, you'll be searched at the door."
I left a voicemail with the management company, SMG, asking whether the building and property are owned by the city/state, clarifying the reason for the question as trying to find out if certain state laws either do or do not apply to the building. If it's a State entity, they can regulate firearm possession by law. If it's a County or City entity, they would fall under preemption.
Remember that asking a question where no answer exists runs the risk of having the answer you don't like being put in place.
Also, IANAL, so my answers are to be taken with a grain of salt.Last edited by ViperGTS19801; February 1st, 2016 at 11:18 AM.

Re: Philly Auto Show
Thanks for your response on the other thread. I'm planning on taking the train and would hate to get there only to be searched and have to turn around. They should then provide lockers. (Pipe dream!)

Re: Philly Auto Show
Of course.
I also have an email out to the Convention Center, wondering who/what actually owns the property. If it's State run, I guess preemption wouldn't apply. I dunno, might have to make some other phone calls.Junior

Re: Philly Auto Show
Just got word from someone who went today, he did not go through a metal detector or get a pat down. Whether this is everyone's experience at every time/date and every entrance, I can't say... But I'm leaning towards going now.

Re: Philly Auto Show
Well I guess during the week, things may be less packed, and maybe slack security.

Re: Philly Auto Show
I have concealed carried there for years with no problems. I am guessing management there doesn't want to deal with people carrying openly... or upsetting the liberals..

Re: Philly Auto Show
I went last year, had no issues at all. I took the train in.
