Default NEW TOPIC: Crazy Gun Price of the Week

I was thinking about that S&W 19-2 4" that sold for inexplicably high price 3,025.00 a week ago. It was nice, NIB, but that was way over the top. We talked about it I think.

Tonight a spotted another auction going wild. This time it was a S&W 60-1 2" ANIB. If you ever heard of a snubby refered to as the shark fin snubby this is it. Big deal, it is a model 60 with adjustable rear sights and a high front sight. Most people think they are ugly ugly ugly and that the sight is bound to catch on a holster. I have one. That doesn't say much for me does it. But my taste are improving. Tonight the price soared to $914.00 To me that is crazy.

All of us know we have some of the same things in the safe or we see them selling on Forums for sensible prices. Some people have money to burn.

So week by week I will try to spot more such foolishness. If you see something that might qualify please post it here.

It'll be hard to beat the pair of 1911s that Cabot is machining out of a meteorite. They're expected to sell for $500k to $1M at auction. Here's the layout for cutting the parts out of the meteor.

I watched "Gun Stories" on "The Outdoor Channel" last night and the whole show was dedicated to these Cabot 1911 guns.

My DSL is sucking right now. This may or not be a video link to the show: http://www.outdoorchannel.com/show/g...os/1552/328801

Apparently the 2 sold for $4.5 million. Absolutely Beautiful.

    What is anything worth??
Whatever someone will pay for it!
The folks with more money than sense, sure can screw up the market.
