Default Aftermarket triggers bad choice for concealed carry?

I've heard this rumor floating around that having an aftermarket trigger in your carry gun can lead to legal "issues" if the weapon were in fact used in a self defense situation. This "issue" would supposedly arise from the prosecutor bringing up the fact that you had installed some sort of "hairpin trigger" to make it easier to kill people or something. Sounds ridiculous to me, but i'm looking at the apex trigger for my glock and want to get a better idea of whether or not there's any merit to this in terms of being a possible legal complication.

    Anyone know anything about this?

Keep a 3.5-6lb trigger on your pistols and your finger off of it until you are ready to shoot someone and I think you will be fine.

Of Course this is just my .02

Nope, you put a better trigger on to make it easier to hit *just* the bad guy miss the bystanders. See "NYPD" and "12-pound triggers"...

Prosecutors prosecute, that's what they do. Don't do something to make it easier for them.

So, you're saying one should avoid carying a gun altogether?

It's my understanding the thought ( not logic) behind the NY trigger was to prevent a ND. A ND not to be confused with an AD. So what of it degrades accuracy.

As W. Earp was reputed to say, "Fast is good, Accuracy is final."

Well Earp probably had more trigger time in his 1st 12 years on this planet then most big city cops have in their entire 25 year career.

Earp used a shotgun and shot 'em in the back if possible.

With a suitable level of paranoia, anything is possible.

In other news - I had the Apex job done on my daily carry, and I am happy with the results.

It's my understanding this is largely a myth. Common upgrades are doubtful to raise eyebrows. Start filling hollow points with mercury or cyanide or glycerine and sealing with wax and the DA might look at ya kinda queer
