Milling 7075 aluminum 80%lower
Anyone have any tips/ advice for milling 7075 aluminum lower? I have done a few 6061 with the jig I have, but have never attempted the harder aluminum.
You're a sanctimonious hypocrite of a bible-spouting blackmailer !

Re: Milling 7075 aluminum 80%lower
I've machined my fair share of 7075 (including receivers) along with dozens of other grades. Its not really harder, it will have a similar temper to what 6061 has so hardness is fairly close. The 7075 is just tougher and obviously the tensile strength is higher. Sharp high speed steel tooling will do the job, if you can get ahold of some Tapmagic Aluminum cutting oil it will help.

No it is easy on tooling. You could really even use hardened carbon steel tooling, HSS tooling is just more popular these days. Happy milling.
