Default Going to Montco courthouise for your LTCF? Don't be late

Acquaintance, doing the best he could what with trying to leave work, getting caught in traffic situations, unfamiliar with the hoops to enter, arrived at the LTCF counter and watched the clock advance from 3:30 to 3:31. The officious woman whose job is to help the public, also watching the minute hand, barked "We're closed". He pleaded for some help and she repeated, "We're closed". Obviously on a power trip in her little domain, he didn't feed her any more to relish.

Do not expect anything more than a robot if you have to deal there, and do not be late. There is one good thing though. At least she is not a police officer.

This is the concession for giving up the Local Police check card, now they're only open for 3 hours on the second thursdaay of the week.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

No, it seems that the concession is that NOBODY can get their LTCF on the spot.
One step forward six steps back.

When I lived in Berks it was 15 minutes from in the door to out with my license. If it's possible there, it should be possible everywhere...

The application was filled out. He pleaded that he only needed the photo, to no avail.

I am by no means defending the new dem sheriff, but if the staff's shift ends at 3:30, it ends at 3:30. The hours are published.

It's a bummer that your friend ran short on time. Traffic has been awful all over the region this week, most of the highways I drive on are missing at least one lane to snow piles and that causes major backups.

    ETA

I hope he is able to get back there when they are open. Norristown is a traffic mess on a good day.
Please let us know how it goes when he brings the application in.
Does the new sheriff issue on the spot, or is he holding for "up to 45 days"?

This won't sit well, but, one of my favorite responses to inconsiderate people is, " a lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part!"
It is inconsiderate to show up late enough that the required steps cannot be taken in the time remaining.

Yes, a few drivers can and do tie up traffic. Yes, traffic jams happen. Vehicles break down. ALL of these can be overcome with wise planning.
