Exactly why I start off new shooters with a spring action bb gun. From there, one bullet in the mag of a .22. Show me adherance to safety and we upgrade to 2 bullets. Keep that going and we'll discuss all 10. Aim, flick off the safety, finger onto trigger, aim again, fire, drop mag, lock slide open, all while pointing downrange. Never ever point the gun at anytime anywhere but downrange at something you don't mind destroying. Don't sweep the range, put the gun on the bench pointed downrange. And never ever believe it's unloaded. And damnit, get that cigarette outta yer mouth!
