that is awesome!! i have taken some pics and video of lightning, but nothing that cool. i love especially how organic the bolt looked as each tendril multiplied....

Awesome. How cool is it that it was actually 2 different strikes? The first one spidered out and barely reached the ground, but primed the pathway for the second one that just shot straight down.

Reading now, but I have heard that basically what happens is atoms in the are are super heated causing a plasma to form and the charge travles down that. reading the other page now.
