Google is my friend - thanks. Real lookers.

So, essentially, the @$$hats in WA.gov are limiting semi-auto rifles with detachable magazines to these 2 models. "But, wait" you say, "those aren't semi and they don't have detachable magazines. That means they are banning *ALL* semi-auto rifles with detachable magazines."

There was a referendum passed in Washington a short while back regarding the requirement for back round checks for firearm transfers. The proposed idea apparently did not have much of a chance in passing the legislative route, so the leftists took the matter to a referendum. Much leftist money was sent nationwide along with a million bucks from bill gates. The referendum passed, and it is my understanding it is not getting much support from a number of counties within the state and the wording of the final draft law via referendum has a lot of caveats and exceptions. That being said, in my opinion this latest intrusive and over the top restrictive proposed law has little or no chance of being passed, even through referendum, much less the legislature.

Same is true in NJ, CT and MD. That is why we have some rights that cannot be infringed so that tyranny of the majority cannot prevail when it comes to those key rights. The Constitution is supposed to protect us, but at the end of the day, it too is a piece of paper that tyrants will shred it they can.
Even the states you mentioned with their draconian gun laws does not get close to topping the wording of the proposed legislation in Washington.

Just wait... they're working on it.

California introduced virtually the same legislation on the 14th.
