Wells Fargo center flyers game
I figured I'd share my experience at the Wells Fargo Center. The girlfriend and I went to the Flyers - Bruins game last night. I carried my Glock 19 with a spare mag in a Haley Strategic Incog appendix holster. The last two time I went a few years ago I got in no problem without being noticed. This time it seems they stepped up security, having more staff with wands as well as metal detectors at every entrance. The staff even said they beefed it up lately due to current events in the country.
I asked for a locker as soon as I came to the metal detector. One of the security personal escorted us back outside the building and around the corner into the security office. I put my firearm into the locker and received a receipt and key. We went and enjoyed the game which was awesome by the way and when it was over went back to pick up my firearm.
Here is where the issues was. The office where they have the lockers, which is only about 30ft x 20ft was full of drunk assholes that were in there for fighting. Before we even got in the door I had to pull my girlfriend aside from being ran into and hit by accident from two guys fighting each other and security breaking it up.
Once in, I got to the locker and one of the guys that was fighting was being held by a pretty big security officer 2ft from my locker. I asked him to be moved a little bit away so I could get my things together. It made me uneasy being that they were drunk and could see everything I was doing and the way he was looking at me clearly was still fired up, adrenaline going.
I think they should have a different room for the lockers or atleast a different area. It obviously isn't too popular carrying to the games since they only had about 12 lockers and 6 were filled, maybe with firearms maybe jewelry or money who knows. Other then that everything went fine and the staff was actually very kind and helpful. It wasn't an issue at all that I had a firearm.

Re: Wells Fargo center flyers game
Welcome to the hidden side of Philly sporting events. It is ugly but it only represents a tiny % of those who attend. Hope you enjoyed the game.

This is why it's safer to be able to keep your firearm on your own body instead of turning it over to "security".
Glad you got out safe.Galations 6:9...And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Re: Wells Fargo center flyers game
It was pretty crazy. Anytime I go to a game I wear regular clothes no orange, no names. May sound boring but I am almost always carrying. I try to blend in, I know how crazy it can get sometimes.
Don't even get me started about trying to leave the parking lot! I figured I'd give an update. I know there is a few threads on carrying there, but just a heads up watch yourself in that "Security" room!

The cops on duty must have been slow getting to the security base. Usually when we bring the drunks there the cops show up pretty quick to take care of them. Most of the time the office is empty except for a couple of employees so don't worry about this experience being the norm when you check your firearm.
