Default Re: Obama to announce expanded background checks as he aims to limit gun deaths

At a minimum it looks like he is trying to ban "Gallery of Guns" and sites like that. So, let's say I have two Garands in my collection and want to sell one, I guess I cannot go on Gallery of Guns to sell it without having an FFL. Even though the transaction is going to be processed through an FFL with all the background checks for the purchaser. Collectors buy and sell guns from their personal collections to upgrade and expand the collection, using the money from the sale of unwanted firearms to cover the cost of the new one. Sometimes, no profit is made on the sale because to the collector, its a simple matter of getting some money from something he no longer wants and using it to purchase something he does. Looks like he wants to ban that too by declaring the collector to be in business. Are estate sales legal? I see he is touting the Smart Gun nonsense. Congress should pass a gun control law that requires all Federal Law Enforcement Officers (FBI, EPA, BLM, Forest Service, Treasury Department (IRS, BATFE and Secret Service), SSA, DHS, Marshall Service) to immediately use only smart gun technology. We the People would be exempt under the law. That will end that nonsense. Looks also like he is going to do backdoor gun grabs from senior citizens via Social Security and through Obamacare physicians and hospitals. Also, he is amping up the propaganda machine to use these measures to push the Democrat sponsored gun control/confiscation program just dropped into the legislative hopper before Christmas.

Here I though I beat everyone to the punch on the "facts" sheet. If it's any consolation The House Appropriations Committee has stated they will not fund "unlawful limitations on the unambiguous Second Amendment rights of Americans"

I follow popvox and participate at times because the answers/data/etc. goes directly to Congress. The latest one is up on Obama's executive actions and so far nation wide, the response is overwhelmingly against big O - almost 80%. Not surprisingly, the "for" votes come from NYC, Philly, Cal., etc.. But very few are voting they are "for" the actions ! Log on and check it out.

Not sure if the link will work, but here it is :

It looks to me like Obama is pretending to enhance gun control to please the Left, while actually doing nothing much at all.

If you make a profit in buying and selling guns, you are ALREADY required to have an FFL and do the NICS or PICS check, and maintain a bound book. That's nothing new. If you're just selling off your own guns at an average loss, that's not covered. If you liquidate an estate, that's not covered. If you rent a table at every local gun show and make offers on guns passing by and then put them on your table for 150% of what you paid, then yes, you're "in the business", under existing statutes and regs.

Nope, it will just cure cancer and AIDS, equalize male and female salaries, pacify the Middle East, and stabilize the global climate. But murders will continue. Blame straight white Christian males who earn a lot of money, those bastards.
