Lightbulb No firearms signage - Bucks County Government Annex Levittown

    Happy New Years all,

I went to the Bucks Cty annex in Levittown and noticed a "no firearms" sign.

    Is that legal?

    Thanks,

    SGM

I believe it's home to Magisterial District Court 07-1-04. Court facilities are, by statute, gun-free zones.

That being the case, aren't they required to provide secure storage for your firearm?
Go sell crazy some where else, we're all stocked up here.

    Probably only for employees.

According to Section 913, yes. Do they? There's a couple of hundred of them scattered throughout the Commonwealth - Bucks County has 20; Clearfield County has 4. Most, I would say, DO NOT comply with the storage requirements the law dictates.

This is not a court house just a county building. I could be wrong, but no lockers either.

If it has any of the following, it's a court facility.

"Court facility." The courtroom of a court of record; a courtroom of a community court; the courtroom of a magisterial district judge; a courtroom of the Philadelphia Municipal Court; a courtroom of the Pittsburgh Magistrates Court; a courtroom of the Traffic Court of Philadelphia; judge's chambers; witness rooms; jury deliberation rooms; attorney conference rooms; prisoner holding cells; offices of court clerks, the district attorney, the sheriff and probation and parole officers; and any adjoining corridors.

    It shouldn't matter.

This is actually how they can make you check your weapons at the state capital. There's some old court rooms there.
