    Unhappy 7.62x54R Price Increase

7.62x54R prices are climbing. Why? Is it really all about the Russian/Ukraine conflict or is there also panic occurring? Is this the new 22lr epidemic?

It's been 25 years since the end of the Cold War. One would have to imagine stocks of that surplus would eventually run out like all surplus eventually does.

Or the EPA Lead import rule change
Or the UN small arms trade rules change
    Or stock is dwindling
Or with the push by the Democraps demand is rising
    Or All the above

I bought 7 tins (for investment purposes) last year for 109.00 each delivered. The last I checked they were 256.00 per tin from the same seller.
I should have doubled it. Its the last of the high power big caliber cheap stuff out there. The 7.62x25 was cheap a few years ago, now look at it.
Ammo is one of the best investments imo. It might take up a lot of room but you'll have no problem selling it for a big profit.

I would imagine regional conflicts are having an impact in the importation by drawing away supply. I know this has impacted supplies of some AK type rifles as the plants are producing for local consumption rather than exportation. Coupled with sanctions against certain Russian manufacturers this would certainly have driven down supply.

I agree that it certainly was cheap high caliber stuff. I always felt it was underpriced when it was being sold for $110 a can. Not that I was complaining it was underpriced, just felt that compared to .308 or .30-06 it was far cheaper.

That was actually the price maybe 1 1/2 years ago at Sportsmens Guide. Wow it has gone up, I'm afraid to shoot it now. I have plenty of 22LR, maybe I can trade?

308 is a joke, 3006 is right up there with it too.

I'm assuming you're referring to the prices being a joke. If so I would agree. There are some good deals on .30-06 depending on what you are looking for. I don't use .308 so I never look.
