Re: Trump and Guns
In the address, Trump waxed eloquent about his November 8 victory and his re-election.
He threw a bone of recognition to vets and to LEOs, but the speech was mainly about HIMSELF.
There was absolutely no substance in the speech. There were NO SPECIFIC gun control repeal policies laid out by DJT. Talk about a missed opportunity.
What that means is that DJT will do nothing MAJOR to enhance the right to keep and bear arms. As such, he is a traitor to the movement which he says he supports.
DJT promised that he would never infringe upon the right to keep and bear arms. What a hollow "promise." He took that pledge when he took his Oath of Office on January 20, 2017. So, that "promise" gets gun rights advocates exactly what additionally?
Zilch, zip, zero.
Here's a clue, DJT: Gun rights ARE ALREADY BEING INFRINGED ON A DAILY BASIS. So, your promise is another big, fat LIE.
What a freakin' disappointment.

Re: Trump and Guns
There was nothing substantive in the speech regarding repeal of gun control laws -- nothing.
Think about that for one minute.
Where did you read in my comment that "he should already have repealed a bunch of gun laws"? You didn't because I didn't write it.
Under our form of government, the president cannot repeal law on his own.
Go on drinking that Trump Kool-Aid in the "real world."

Re: Trump and Guns
^^^^^So far, Trump has done almost everything within the power of the Presidency that he said he would do. This is the problem of living in a world of perceived total instant gratification. For the first time in eight years, no one, zero, zip, nada is worried about 2A infringements and .gov overreach, 76, you need to get a bit of perspective on reality.
Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities. Voltaire.
America must suffer until it reaches the point that Liberty is more important than Comforts.

Re: Trump and Guns
Very true, but it is on us supporters of Trump to motivate him to take more decisive action in support of the 2A.
Hating on Trump because he didn't do enough will accomplish nothing. Also, giving Trump a free pass will accomplish nothing. We play a part in this process, by design.

I'm neither a Democrat, nor a Hillary supporter. I actually despise the tyrant.
But I am not going to give DJT any passes.
In a speech to the preeminent gun lobbying group in the country, he offered nothing substantive to 2A/RKBA supporters and advocates -- nothing.
I am especially wary of him due to his stated public positions on gun control.
