Does it really matter

what I'm looking at has a 3.8 barrel and one that has a 4.6 barrel, if your not shooting competition, does the extra barrel length really mean anything. thoughts anyone?

Extra velocity from the same powder charge, likely more weight helping with recoil (or hurting pocket carry lol), and a longer sight radius improving aimability for most.

Up to you what value you place in those factors.

all depends on what the pistols intended purpose is. if you you plan to concealed carry the shorter barrel is a plus but if the gun won't be carried and will be used for the range and HD the longer barrel may be more appropriate. it'll also help to know what type of pistol you're talking about.

open carry?
"CAR" carry?
bedside gun?

SHTF gun?

.8" isn't a lot so... details?

The CZ is a pretty accurate pistol among general factory output. If you are carrying the pistol, probably the shorter barrel. If not, the longer barrel.
