Colt Custom Shop query

Does anyone own a Colt Special Combat Elite from their custom shop? I'm on a 1911 kick, and I like the look of their blued slide with satin nickle frame. It's around 1,900.

Does the nickle and bluing hold up to leather holster wear? Reliable guns?

It shouldn't wear any more than any other pistol.

Any gun that goes in and out of a holster a lot will eventually show wear. The best you can do is holster slowly, putting the gun right down the center of the opening. Also very important is keeping the gun and holster clean, as carbon fouling is very abrasive, especially when it embeds inside a leather holster. Kydex is nice because you can wash it out regularly with no ill effect.
