I was shopping at Walmart in Wilkes- Barre the other day. And I open carry a SS 1911 , on my side. Shopping around no problems , just the funny stairs of a few. Most don't even notice half the time .So my wife and I pay and leave . So as I'm going down Cole st , I get to the light at Sherman hills . WAMMM !!! a cop flies up behind , and lights me up. I'm confused , so I open the door & peek my head out . I point to myself and ask , Mee ? He points right at me . OK so I pull over , turning off the road. So I put both hands on the window , waiting for him to come over . He pulls along side , tells me he thought I was someone else. Then thanked me for my cooperation . Thank God , I really don't want to have to throw my gun over to him. I don't want to get it scratched . A SS 1911 just looks so good to me , I plan on polishing some time soon make it stand out a little more.
Then today I ran into 2 people , that where there the day that guy had a shoot out with police at Walmart. The first guy a was talking to said his dads car received a bullet hole. The second guy I talked to was at Chucky Cheese that day , he was inside when it happened .They both where asking questions about getting a license to carry, I referred them to PAFOA to read more about owning a gun + the laws. More and more people ask me more about carrying , the more they see me around .

Took my son's family down to the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona and then to Horse Shoe Curve (their kids love trains).

We did manage to see one police car.

I got stopped, felony stop style by San Diego PD. It took a bit to clear up. It seems my car was the same make and model of a shooting a few blocks away. By the time the backup showed up to do the whole prone out bit, they knew it wasn't me. It sure was tense for a few minutes. At that point the original officer came up and explained. He told me I was free to go and have a good day. They took off in a hurry with their lights on.

I only use tools that I can stand to have wear accumulate on.

If (I hope to never need it) I ever have to fire my gun, I KNOW it will be lost to me until all legal proceedings are over.

Don't drive a car that you can't stand to get dinged and don't carry a gun you can't stand to lose.

I just wanted him to see 2 empty hands. You know the first thing a cop will say " Let me see your hands ! " I didn't want him to get nervous .Plus there's is a lot of shootings in Wilkes . So my thinking was someone just call , about a man with a gun . I didn't think I did anything wrong , so why am I getting pulled over . But I will always put my hands on the door , just so they can see 2 empty hands . As he was pulling up to let me go , I could tell he was very jacked up on adrenaline . So this is the reason I'll put my hands on the door.
I'm just guessing that SteelCityK9Cop , that you are an officer of the law . So I can see how you need to think like you do. I put both hands up as a sign of respect , so he can see I'm not a threat .But if your hinky meter goes off , you need to run with it. Just remember, DTA " Don't Trust Anyone ! " . Not even me , even if I do put both hands on the window. But If you ever did meet me , after 5 minutes you'd realize I'm a good person . And you would let me go. LOL.
