Range trip with some handguns.
I went shooting yesterday. I took 4 hand guns. .45LC Schofield, snub nose .357 mag. and 2 1911s.
I sent 400+ rounds down range and this is what I found out.
1. .45LC Schofiled. (uberti). I really enjoyed shooting the Schofield. It had been over a year since I had it out. The gun was manageable in both hands. The single action hammer was easy to cock and the trigger pull was crisp.
2. The Snub nose S&W .357 mag became a handful after about 80 rounds.
3 One 1911 was a RIA GI. It ate everything I fed it with one exception. If I used the slide release the slide would not close all the way. Pulling the slide back and releasing it the slide worked every time. When I bought the gun it did that and I found some sticky stuff on the feed ramp and cleaned it off and it was good to go. The sticky stuff was back.
The other 1911 a S&W 1911PD worked flawlessly with every thing.
I have not shot the hand guns for quite some time, after 400+ rounds my hands were getting tired.I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.
