Glock 17 gen 4 issue
I recently bought a Glock 17 Gen 4 FDE with Trijon night sights. I finally had a day off and decided to bring it to the range and put a few rounds through it. I put six rounds in all three mags and the gun racked fine and fired, but the slide would lock back and would not chamber another round. When I manually racked it had a hard time chambering correctly. Any ideas, its my first glock and the first gun that I have that had an issue.
I was using Federal 115 grain FMJsLast edited by Gunner94; December 7th, 2015 at 05:48 PM.

Is your thumb pushing up on the slide lock lever. Shoot it weak hand only see if it continues.

Did you clean and lube the gun prior to taking it to the range?
Of the 5 drops of oil the gun takes, arguably the two that matter the most are the two you should be letting run down the rail cuts in the slide.
That and your thumb on the slide lock.

Re: Glock 17 gen 4 issue
You just said the gun racked fine, but here, you're saying it had a hard time chambering, correctly. Are you pulling the slide all the way to the rear and letting it go to chamber a round or are you walking the round into the chamber? Also, have you taken anything apart and maybe reinstalled it, incorrectly?
I own 3 Gen 4 17's all built in 2014 and 7 other Gen 4 Glocks. They've all been perfect, function wise. Still look like Glocks, though. Can't have everything.
For those unaware...Glocks come ready to fire right out of the box. The clean and all that other hocus pocus isn't necessary. Breaking in a Glock is also not necessary. If you're having trouble with a Gen 4 Glock, be sure it's put together, correctly, it has sufficiently powered ammo to cycle the thing, and really be sure you're not hitting the slide stop lever while you're shooting it.BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.
