Gun control quotes from Dec 6 2015
Now, here at home, we have to work together to address the challenge. There are several steps that Congress should take right away.
To begin with, Congress should act to make sure no one on a no-fly list is able to buy a gun. What could possibly be the argument for allowing a terrorist suspect to buy a semi-automatic weapon? This is a matter of national security.
We also need to make it harder for people to buy powerful assault weapons like the ones that were used in San Bernardino. I know there are some who reject any gun safety measures. But the fact is that our intelligence and law enforcement agencies — no matter how effective they are — cannot identify every would-be mass shooter, whether that individual is motivated by ISIL or some other hateful ideology. What we can do — and must do — is make it harder for them to kill.

Re: Gun control quotes from Dec 6 2015
Toss out Due Process for gun owners. Even gun haters shouldn't want such a restriction, if they bother to think about it. We should get rid of the No Fly List, not expand it.
Ban a class of firearm used in at most 300 murders a year. Many times more people are beaten to death, killed with hammers or clubs. A class of firearm that was banned in San Bernardino. Used in a crime by people who made pipe bombs, an implement that was banned in 1934.

This may sound stupid, but they haven't banned cars and we all know that more than a few people have been killed by an auto.

He said less than I thought he would on gun control, but I still don't trust him. Besides, I find the whole "no fly list" thing to be propaganda and bogus. If that is the way they want to stop terrorists in America, then we are screwed. Not to mention seeing that list double in size to 1,400,000 when they add all of us to the suspect list for owning those ambiguous "high powered" firearms.
He did waiver between calling recent attacks terrorists, but then still claiming not to have all the "facts."
Excellent point about the pipe bombs GeneCC. It will be shared!...and they have a plan...

The "no-fly list" is an unaccountable exercise of a star chamber, a secret court that answers to the executive. Progressives love to say that we should stop being Americans, and act more like the Brits and Europeans. Well, the Brits outlawed their Star Chamber in 1641. So maybe Obama shouldn't try to impose the damned thing on us in 2015.
Just imagine what the government would have to do to get a court to strip someone of his 1st Amendment right of speech. It wouldn't be "some guy in some government office typed his name onto a list we keep." Not even Nixon tried to do that, and he had an "enemies list".
If the government has enough info to deprive someone of enumerated, fundamental Constitutional rights, then I'd expect the government to arrest that person and try to convict them of a crime. Otherwise, Barry, do your best to obey the United States Constitution, that thing that you raised your hand and swore to uphold and protect.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

They already can and do restrict someone's 1st amendment rights by imposing Gag orders on persons that have been issued NSL's (National Security Letter). It is blatantly unconstitutional and no court needed to approve. The Director of the FBI decides whether to issue the letter. There is no recourse. The FBI decides, what could go wrong?

Re: Gun control quotes from Dec 6 2015
Just look at what the IRS did to target conservatives. Lookat how the EPA and BLM bully private citizens. Crap, the BATF bullies its own employees they feel turn against them. Worse yet, look at the complete lack of punishment and accountability, and we've supposedly got due process in place for what these agencies do wrong!
Does anyone really believe the no-fly list wouldn't be used to further a political agenda and settle personal vendettas? If you do, I've got a bridge I would like to sell you...Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.
