    Moved to this forum to see your pictures. Really nice bear. I know the feeling of looking for a wounded bear in the dark, I was alone and did not have another arrow to shoot, very nerve racking.

    Gyoas: Congrats on the bear and great story!! He looks like a beauty.

    AR15jules: my daughters have the exact same rifle, Ruger compact in .243. With the oldest in college out of state, I now have a new favorite deer rifle as well! There's just no reason to tote the full size 30.06 for my typical distances.

    Oldest (youth) got his first at 3:30 today...5 points and about 165 pounds. Already at the butcher. Youngest and I were in a different spot and saw nada.
