Me too but if you have taken the hunter safety class you can buy a hunting license for around $22. Just another option

How much is the hunter safety course and is it good for life or just a couple years?

I thought of taking it.

I mean I'm not stupid and don't point the muzzle other than down range and when people yell clear, I pull out the clip, open the bolt and have the bullet in the chamber come out and put the gun on safe and I stand back 5 or so feet away from the gun. I don't get near the gun at all when the range is not hot.

I have handled guns for years on private property growing up and never had a problem ever but I never taken An official safety class.

PA hunter safety course is a one time deal. Take once (most hunters take it when they are 11 or 12) and never take again. It is a soft course on safety and hunting rules. Still worth your time. Anyone who doesn't look like a kid can just go buy a hunting license these days. They never card you. Keep in mind that you SHOULD NOT DO THAT AS IT IS NOT strictly LEGAL. Take the course, get the card. Not a big deal.

$20 for the online course and you only pay if you pass. Nice. Game Commission gets kudos for embracing online tech. The license portals crush going to fricking Walmart.

There are local classes around. I took it a few years ago sitting in with mostly kids but I enjoyed it and learned alot.

The Classroom setting is an big advantage as there is some hands on and you have people you can ask questions to amd some pretty good stories to boot! I sat in on 2 additional since just to see how other teachers taught it for a comparison

***It looks like there are no classes till spring 2016 so online would work to get your license in the near future
