    Default CZ75B Magazine Question

I just picked up my CZ75B and would like to add some more magazines. (haven't shot it yet)

I see CZ sells their factory mags but Midway/Brownells sells a brand called Mec-Gar. Any suggestions which ones to purchase - I prefer to buy factory brand mags but not sure what the difference is unless they are indeed an aftermarket magazine. Should i just stick to the CZ mags? After spending what I did, i don't want to buy inferior magazines...

    Thanks for any input.

ps - in another thread i mentioned difficulty racking the slide - what i realized is there is less slide to grip and that is my issue. I chose to deal with it best i can as i am taking a chance that the design had some other advantages re recoil.

Mec-Gar magazines are very good. They make OEM mags for quite a few gun manufacturers.

I use them in CZs, Hi Powers and 1911s and have never had any issues with any of them.

    Stay away from Promags.

Mec-Gar actually makes CZ's original equipment mags.

Mec-Gar makes original equipment mags for many gun manufacturers.

I use the factory mags that came with my gun plus the MecGars. I never have had an issue with either one. I dont even notice any difference in feel during reloads. I bought here http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.ph...ndex&cPath=130 in the past but notice they now have a blue follower. I think they used to be only around sixteen bucks in the past too. I see he has " inserted" mags for a slightly lower price. From my past experience with the company I would be a hundred percent comfortable buying those.

CZ builds their guns in the Czech Republic. The mags say Made in Italy. Guess who made them?

Actually , the latest CZ's come with mags that clearly say MEC GAR.

I thought so but I wasnt 100% sure. I think they might make the RIA .45 mags too. They say made in Italy, and they have that Mec-Garish look to them.

    Thanks everyone !
I ended up ordering a bunch through Midway as they had the lowest price and free shipping right now. The mags that came with the gun look to be after markets - probably the Mec gar as they look just like them and not like the ones shown for almost $50 factory originals... there aren't any markings on mine so i really don't know who made them.

Those are ACT mags, not Mec-Gar.

The Mec-Gar mags work great in all of my CZs and CZ Clones. At half the price of CZ branded mags, it makes more sense to get them.
    When in doubt, knifehand!
