    Default Pellets in game

Is there a metal detector to find pellets in squirles and rabbits?

Yes there is, your teeth. You'll notice the wound channel as your cut into the delicious meat.

If you used steel shot, you could use an Alnico/rare earth magnet to find and pull the pellets out, but using steel shot is not recommended for small game, due to potential ricochets from rocks.

Most of the pellets drop out when I skin my squirrels. I slow cook them whole, then shred the meat like pulled pork, to be used in various dishes later. If there is any shot in the meat, I find it, and remove it.

Make sure you don't accidentally rinse the shot into the garbage disposal...

Part of the reason I prefer to use rimfires for small game that's on the ground.

I have never gotten a piece of pellet in a squirrel or rabbit, but I have gotten it in goose. No fun.

Just do your best and don't let it ruin anything.
