    Default Lancaster County LTCF

Took a buddy to get his LTCF at the courthouse yesterday. I was CC'ing as usual and declared I needed to check my weapon. The 2 deputies that I have seen there before were there but there was also a female deputy. She was a bit snarky about the process but the other 2 treated it as a non-event. Buddy was in and out with his new LTCF in under 15 minutes.

I just renewed today. Parked a half block from the courthouse & put all the quarters I had into the meter, giving me an hour & 10 minutes which I hoped would be long enough... I was back in my car in under 20 minutes. They treat you like a valued customer there, honestly they do.

I normally park on Orange beside the church at Duke, put 2 quarters in and I'm still back with time left on the meter.

As has been said, extremely nice folks to deal with in Lancaster. For non-resident applicants, they are looking for "unrestricted" out of state CCW permits. Like everyone else, I was in and out in 15 minutes earlier this week.

I paid for two hours of parking right outside the courthouse and most of it went to waster but I was happy to overpay in this case.

I wish all branches of government ran as efficiently and professionally as the Lancaster Sheriff's office!

I'm from out of state but have family in Lancaster and occasionally work near Pittsburgh. I just stopped into the courthouse and taped to the wall is a printout from their website saying Lancaster won't do LTCFs for out of county or out of state folks. Before this trip I did my research and swear their site didn't say anything about that, but it does now. I guess I'm off to another county.

That's new, probably put up after Sheriff Reese was forced out and whomever took over put it up. Last time I renewed there were 4 people from Delaware that had no problem getting one.

If you're travelling from MA to Lancaster swing by the Sheriff's office at the Reading Airport, Berks County (check hours first) and get 'er done in 15 minutes.

    Excellent! Thanks.

I'm brand new to this forum. Is there someone I can message here so the page listing the counties can be updated?
