Default what really did happen at Greater Piit shooting range?

As it was my favorite range and I sure do miss it there I was just thinking back and wondered what was the real reason it closed? I heard multiple stories Tex was growing weed, they were selling guns to the Pagans all kinds of crap.

What was the real reason it closed and what is there now?

    Wow. That's a topic I haven't seen discussed in a long time.
If you do a search there have been several discussions on it over the years. (I first found this forum by Googling for info on that club way back when)

There are a small handful of people on the forum who seemed to have a handle on what actually happened. I'm not one of them and I don't recall what was rumor and what was fact.

I found nothing. Where is it located?
IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)

    "Was", not "is"... (map location)

The actual name was Greater Pittsburgh Gun Club.

Here's an old thread from 2006...

For all I knew there was something called Greater Piit. I didn't realize it was misspelled.

The long and short: Tex was selling guns. Tex was a prohibited person. Connie was putting her name to Tex's activities. They both plead guilty. The club itself plead guilty. It closed as a result.

Tex could not legally posses guns, much less sell them, after 2000. The Feds caught him selling, Connie signing that she did, etc. he sold ammo during the plea bargain process.

All in all, a shame. It was a great place to shoot.

Tex still owns the property and lives there. He was released from jail last year or so. Maybe even 2-3 years now. From what I remember it was about 200 acres.
www.Steelvalleycasting.com is your new home for coated bullets and custom ammo.

It was a great place to shoot. Long before PMSC hosted Poofa shoots, we had a Glocktalk shoot there.

The closing is the reason I'm at PMSC as well.
FireInstitute had all their training classes there.
My understanding is that Tex's mom was the actual owner.
I was heading there for a membership meeting and was turned away at the gate by men in black ( a local cop and a guy dressed tactically )

Some time after the initial closing, Tex had a young couple reopen as "managers" and we shot out there for a short time.
IIRC they got busted for some drug related issues and it closed for good.

A member was kicking around buying the facility but Tex wanted way more than the property was worth.

That's what I remember , true or not. Ha.
Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.
