Kydex or leather?
I'm just curious, what do you guys use for "carry" pistols: kydex or leather or hybrid (kydex/leather)? I'm not talking about for nice revolvers or expensive 1911s. I'm asking which material is your holster made out of that you use the most for your Glocks, M&Ps, Sigs, etc.?

Re: Kydex or leather?
For all my glocks I use kydex. I prefer raven concealment.

Re: Kydex or leather?
Being an old phart, I really appreciate fine gun leather & I have a few quality leather holsters for my 1911's. Everything else gets kydex. I have Raven Concealment Phantoms for my Glock, Sig & HK. The retention's good. They ride tight to the body & are pretty much indestructible. A couple of mine are close to 10 years old & pretty scratched up, but still being used.

Re: Kydex or leather?
My EDC is a gov't 1911 (Taurus - keep wisecracks to yourself) in a home-made hybrid tuckable IWB. I bought a cheap one from eBay a few years ago and found it lacking for some of my particular needs, so I bought some 10-11oz leather and Kydex sheet and made my own. It's not quite perfect, but more than adequate for 12-16 hours/day. It is my daily holster, my dress holster, and my IDPA holster. My only other holsters are a Miami Classic II that I wear for long car trips and a Bianchi scabbard that I only wear to OC to the polls (I don't like how high it rides, but it's sure hard to miss ).

For my 1911s and my XD ( all are 45ACP) Blackhawk Serpa Sporter for all. YMMV.

Re: Kydex or leather?
My holsters are leather....since I don't own any plastic firearms I have no need for Tupperware holsters

Re: Kydex or leather?
Me too, all leather all the time, and only metal guns.
I've carried in leather for close to 20 years. Nothing looks more professional than a polished black leather OWB holster holding a Sig, and it rides nicely tucked up tight under a jacket or blazer.
My retired leather holster got put away just last year after years of service; my wife noted it was looking a bit faded and scratched. I thought about giving it a proper burial for the years of loyalty, but for now it's tucked away for rough working weekends.Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.
