    Default Sight pusher owners?

I almost posted this in the classified section, but I'm honestly just asking for some info, so I'm posting here instead.

I'm about to order a set of sights for a G19, but I do not own a pusher. I'd prefer to not spend the money on the MGW, as I don't foresee that level of need to justify its expense. I'm also not willing to risk marring the slide, as this is a truly "like new" gen 2. If this was my beater gun I might slum it with a hardwood dowel, hammer, and some masking tape...

Anyone aware of a shop or individual in SEPA who doesn't rape for the 5 minutes of "labor" involved with installing a rear sight with a pusher tool? (I'm fine with installing the front sight by myself.) I was quoted $35 for this service at my local shop, which in my opinion is laughable.

Thanks in advance for any leads,

    Bones

Well, I would say that $35 seems to be a little high, if just for the rear sight, but I don't know your gunsmiths hourly labor rate. Myself, I would charge $20 to do it (both front and rear) but I try to keep costs reasonable. You have to remember that the gunsmith has already laid out the money for the different sight pushers and your "5 Minute" job is closer to 20 minutes to do it properly so that the gun will look the same going out as when it came in.

I charge $10.00 for sight install, and I do it before your very eyes.
That applies to replacement of factory sights only with oem type sights.
The downside is you need to call for an appointment.

So when you say OEM type, would that include typical trijicon, meprolight, etc glock sights? (My existing sights to be removed from this gun are those silly OEM glock adjustables.)

I wouldn't be getting anything crazy, but I'm curious what kinds of sights you would not consider OEM type (as you're pretty local to me and I would like to pursue this once I have the sights in hand). If you prefer to PM me, that's fine too.

    Appreciate the replies guys.

OEM type means sights that are supposed to fit existing factory dovetails or holes.
Most of the aftermarket replacement sights are slightly oversize to fit all possible tolerance stacking and as a result may need to be fitted.
    Normal fitting is ok-

Non OEM would be something like a Colt 1991a1 with standard rear dovetail and a tenon front sight; but you want to install a set of Novak cut sights.
That's not a $10.00 replacement. That's 115.00 worth of slide milling and sight fitting.

Call me at the shop if you wish to discuss a sight change.
