Where does PA Supreme Court Stand Now?
I think this should be a new thread since it is not related to the election thread and would be swallowed up in there.
To start, here is the graphic TL_3237 posted before the election:
Now, I THINK these are the people were are about to have, let me know if I made any mistakes:
D David Wecht 22.10% Primary % (top for Dem party) ------Good?
D Kevin Dougherty
D Christine Donohue
D Max Baer---------------------------BAD
R J. Micahel Eakin
R Thomas G. Saylor
D Debra Todd
Wecht was not recommended by FOAC for the election, but he WAS recommended for the primary.
What is the 2A standing on the rest of them? All I could find was Max Baer is a flaming anti.
2017 - Max Baer is gone in 2017 (yay!) as is Saylor (R). Todd (D) is up for reelection. So there will be three seats up. If we can run them in 2017 like they almost ran us this time (I don't count Wecht) then we could end up with better than we had before this election. Let's not screw it up next time. It's going to take outreach and work.

Re: Where does PA Supreme Court Stand Now?
1 justice has ever failed retention (Nigro) and that was the year of the pay raises. I regularly vote "No" on retention for every jurist, but the fact of the matter is that Todd will likely be retained.
The ones we must win are Eakin's seat and Saylor's seat and Baer's seat, just to get it to 4-3. If we don't, and wecht regularly votes anti, it's essentially the desert until 2025.

Re: Where does PA Supreme Court Stand Now?
I'm betting that many folks are confused regarding the significance of this thread. Maybe break it down for us, Ungawa style?

Thanks for starting this thread, Ungawa! Will check in regularly and start figuring out what I can do as far as outreach goes. Like you said, Round 2 is coming up.
I'll be the first to admit that this particular election caught me flatfooted. I knew we had voting coming up, but didn't understand the significance of anything until I sat down to do my research a week or two ago and realized what was going on. Stupid on my part, as by then it was too late to do much else other than discuss it amongst a circle of friends and then go out and vote.

I just looked at the election returns 21:17 4 Nov. Not one Republican judge candidate won a seat. Dems in a sweep! Bullshit!
