I need some help identifying a rifle
Hello guys, I have searched high and low all over the internet for some information of a rifle my dad had left me, he passed when i was young so i never got to know alot about this rifle, All i know about it is that it is a custom built Flaig's Mauser action 30-06. The serial number is B7791, on the other side it reads "Mauser Modelo Argintino 1909" Further down it has "Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken Berlin" There are no Iron sites on the rifle, it is mounted in a black synthetic stock, with a hair pin break trigger, Please excuse the poor image quality, i included a pre-1980 Marlin Model 60 for size comparison in the foreground if it is of any help! Thank you in advance!Snapshot_20151028_6.JPGSnapshot_20151028_7.JPGSnapshot_20151028_8.JPGSnapshot_20151028_9.JPGSnapshot_20151028_11.JPG

Re: I need some help identifying a rifle
If you google Charlie Flaig you'll read some interesting stuff. Apparently he had a small shop in the Pittsburgh area, turning out high quality sporterized guns, many based on Mauser actions like yours. Most accounts that I've read is that the guns were done right, and the guy really knew what he was doing.
Legend has it he was a Nazi sympathizer, with some of Goering's guns and a bust of Hitler in the shop...among other fascinating tales.
When he died his family tried to keep the business going to no avail and they closed shop in the 90s.
The gun should be a shooter, I'd scope it and enjoy it.Last edited by Splittiebus66; October 28th, 2015 at 03:46 AM.

Large ring 98 action made by DWM in Berlin Germany(state run armory) for a contract for Argentina. It was the model 1909 made from 1909 to 1912 and caliber 7.65x53mm. Yours has been sporterised with a new barrel/caliber, stock, drilled and taped for scope mounts, and looks to be refinished. Looks like a nice job was done and should be an excellent shooter.
