The FIRE Institute had an open range day this past Saturday. Prospective students were able to familiarize themselves with some of the instructors and facilities available to attendees to one of many classes offered. The day consisted of many life fire drills, some timed and others designed to introduce the idea of working in pairs. We discussed some of the principles that apply to Two Person Tactics, a class offered at FIRE Institute. The range was set up for both pistol and carbine. We had a great time ringing steel from various distances and testing yourself on the "intimidator". We had discussions about training and tactics in between drills where some of the various course objectives were explained. It was a fun day at the range with very knowledgeable instructors that provided a safe and exciting environment.
