    Default Tac-Sol M4 22 upper, windage issues...

I've owned one of the Tactical Solutions M4 22 uppers for over a year, but have not really gotten a chance to shoot it due to my work schedule.

Over the past 2-3 days I finally got around to shooting it (with a spectre II mounted on it), and have found that I need to adjust the windage on the rear sight almost all the way to the right. I've tried three different rear sights with the same results.

Guessing the FSB might not be aligned properly..Is this something a competent AR gunsmith can look into or should I just send it back to Tac-Sol for them to look at ?

Bripro could take care of that front sight for you.

    ^^^^😷

Adjusting the front sight post is easier said than done. The two taper pins are drilled through the bottom of the barrel when installed. This makes adjusting it, or in my case replacing it, very difficult. Perhaps a competent gunsmith can fix it but I havent come up with a solution for mine yet.

Front sight base may have set screw, I had one and I think mine had one. If so easy fix, loosen set screw and adjust. I think the screw is under the sling swivel.

yup...went down to look just now and there is indeed a setscrew under the front sight base..swivel is attached by a rivet so i guess i'll have to drill or tap that out..

If it's tight heat up screw with a hair dryer, don't want to strip screw head. I also believe the FSB is a little snug on there so you may have to heat it and work it as well.

My way of thinking is it if its just a set screw rather than taper pins you may be able to tap it over without even loosening it. Keep in mind that most of my things are damaged or broken though.

Well, that was an easy fix. Rifle now shoots straight with the windage set a couple of clicks pass the center hash mark. A Couple of taps with a hammer and punch and the sling swivel rivet popped out...a couple of turns with the allen wrench and the FSB was loose. I think it was just dumb luck I got it right the first time around...
