223/5.56 defensive ammo: lead soft points or solid copper?
Here's an ammo question for you guys, regarding defensive ammo and the difference between solid copper bullets and lead soft points.
I understand you need to clean the barrel when you change bullet type, like after shooting cheap competition ammo then loading your rifle for defense, because the copper will anneal to the lead in the barrel and effect accuracy. I have 50 or so rounds of lehigh defense's all copper controlled chaos rounds but it seems like a hassle over just stocking up some soft points and calling it good (aside from confirming zeros).
What are your thoughts and experiences?interested in a cz kadet kit, if anyone's selling

Huh? I may be misunderstanding you. But I wouldn't think your lead soft points have any lead touching your bore in the 223/5.56.
That would be a heck of a point.
I see no reason you can't go from one rd to the other.
But maybe I am misunderstanding something here.
If your lead tip is running along your bore something is wrong.
The bullet most likely has a copper jacket so...................................?
These " lehigh defense's all copper controlled chaos" sound overly expensive to me , but I am not really familiar with them.
Get some H.P's or S.P your gun likes and are known quality and move along is my advise.

I reload Sierra match kings, and game kings exclusively. In my gun the 65 gr Game kings are actually a little more accurate then the 77gr match kings. The game king are a soft lead tip. Neither seems to make my gun any dirtier. Then Again I dont really clean it other then running a bore snake thru it after each range session. I wipe the bolt clean with a rag and put it back in.
