Default Protective Shooting Concepts - Protective Carbine 2 - Nov. 21/22 - Beaver Falls, PA

Protective Carbine 2 teaches you to fight with your long gun! This two day class is optimized for the armed citizen, however it's also great for lone LEOs deploying patrol rifles! Don't "play Army" - learn what YOU need to do to WIN!

You MUST HAVE the following to participate: ballistic eye protection, filtered hearing protection, sturdy belt, adjusting two point sling, carbine magazine carrier, semi-auto carbine of at least 5.45mm caliber, weapon mounted light attached to your carbine, and three spare carbine magazines (more are better).

You MUST ALSO HAVE: 750 rounds of FMJ carbine ammunition, 60 rounds of frangible carbine ammunition, holster (AIWB *is* allowed), semi-auto pistol of at least .380 caliber, 50 rounds FMJ pistol ammunition, hand held flashlight, weapon lubricant, and a tourniquet (SOF-T or CAT). Your carbine is expected to have a confirmed zero with BOTH iron sights AND optics.

Three weeks until Protective Carbine 2, and we still have room!

This class is designed to mentally take shooters off the range and set them against the backdrop of the everyday world. This is accomplished by instilling a shift in mindset: that you are at all times preparing yourself to prevail against a potentially lethal threat that you cannot safely retreat from. Techniques covered include malfunction clearance, natural movement vs. shooting-on-the-move, support side shooting and manipulations, use of cover, and transitions to secondary weapons. We conduct an extensive block of low light instruction on the evening of Day One.

Heavy emphasis is placed on operating the carbine as a home defense weapon, where the student may have absolutely minimal gear and essentially only what is "strapped to the gun". Throughout the course, ammunition management is emphasized, as is status checking the threat, your surroundings, your weapon, and yourself. Video is used as a diagnostic tool, and competitive drills are designed to push shooters out of their comfort zones.

The maximum class size is 12 shooters.
