Default Front sight is loose - 22/45

New member and purchaser of a MARK III 22/45.

Following the last couple range visits when cleaning noticed that my front sight was loose. I just tighten the screw each time and I assume the sight found its correct location as it continue to be quite accurate.

Should I apply some loctite on the threads or is there a more preferred method? And there are several different types of loctite, which should be used assuming this is the correct product.

    Many thanks for your help!

Loctite that sucker down and you won't have any more problems. That's what I used on mine. Green Loctite and apply it to the screw threads. Maybe half of them.

??? Blue? Why blue? hmmm... Green has worked fine for me.

EDIT:: I see. Green takes quite a bit of heat to help you break it free. 300+ degrees. No biggie. I want my front sight to stay on.

Same problem on a Mk II. Blue locktite fixed it, and can be removed if I ever want to change the sights. Just make sure that you clean well before applying locktite.
