Default Deer Processor in Chester County

The property I hunt is located around Kennett Square, this year we will be staying out there for 4 days during the time the Pope visits Philadelphia. Normally, we only hunt mornings and process our own venison, but during this trip we may bag one the first evening and need to be able to drop it off so it doesn't spoil.

Any suggestions or recommendations for a processor nearby? Just need a basic cut, nothing fancy.

Nothing? We could have venison on the ground as early as Thursday evening...need a solution! We have minimal refrigeration options at the property so quartering them and stuffing it in the fridge as I may otherwise do would be difficult

I process my own, but I quarter, wrap in plastic, and place it in large coolers with plenty of ice when it's too warm to hang. Make sure the cooler drains so the meat doesn't rest in water. Good for at least a week. You could go through a lot of ice though until the meat chills down.

To further your idea of the fridge if you access to a small fridge and a truck to drag it with you, you could always quarter, wrap and place the meat in it. Rotate it our to coolers and ice once it's chilled down if you get a 2 or 3 deer.

Look up hersheys meat market in parkesburg. It's probably 20 minuets from kennett. I believe I saw signs the other day for deer processing. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips. For some reason, neither of those processors came up when I googled.

I will be bringing my empty kegorator to refrigerate quarters, and will likely use one of those two processors as well
