sentance for discharging firearm

I know someone who was charged with discharging a firearm during a road rage incident. According to the paper:

On Aug. 19, home security system video showed a man holding a silver and black handgun walking to the rear of the residence with an unidentified female, police said. The man tried to enter the home by the rear sliding door, but a piece of wood at the bottom blocked the door, police said. The two soon left the house without gaining entry.

On Sept. 4, police were called to the community for a road rage incident in which a man drew a black semiautomatic handgun from within his vehicle, pointed it at a person in an adjacent vehicle, threatened the person and fired a shot over the vehicle as he fled away.

Assuming he is convicted(sure hope the scumbag is) what sort of penalty is he facing as far as jail time? I did some quick searched but not exactly sure what I should be looking for.

I would think there would be A LOT more charges than just "discharging a firearm" he'll be looking at.

True, according to the article:

He was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, carrying a firearm without a license and possessing an instrument of crime and was arraigned in front of District Justice Colleen Mancuso for the August incident.

He will be arraigned Monday from the September incident on additional charges of carrying a firearm without a license, possessing an instrument of crime, terroristic threats and simple assault, police said.

Don't bother. It could be anywhere from 0 to more than 20. He's in a lot of trouble. Looking at the statutes won't tell you much, you'd have to have an idea about how these types of cases are typically adjudicated. And even then you'd have nothing more than an educated guess. A lawyer or criminal justice enthusiast might hazard a guess.

Rarely are sentences cumulative (ie a simple arithmetic sum) and lesser offenses are usually attached as concurrent to the more serious charge(s).
