What the news item failed to mention was that the woman had to call 9-1-1 twice, and it took the police over an hour to get there.

First call reporting the break-in & people in the house - 3:05 a.m. Second call reporting she had shot one of the criminals - 4:08 a.m. Police finally showed up at 4:11 a.m.

Was/is she that attractive? What made her or her house appear to be such an easy target for many? Why didn't she change anything (I'm assuming) to make her/house look less of a target? ...Just wondering...

Reminds me of the joke about the man in a traffic accident. No major injuries but both cars were badly damaged. He called 9-1-1 and asked for an officer to come take a report, and the dispatcher told him there weren't any officers available. A few minutes later he called back and told the dispatcher that he was so angry about the accident that he had shot the other driver and stuffed the body in his trunk. Within three minutes five patrol cars showed up. The first officer approached the driver with his gun drawn and demanded to see what was in the trunk. The driver calmly opened the trunk and showed the officers ... a spare tire and a jack.

"I thought you told dispatch you had killed somebody and put the body in your trunk," said the officer.

"I thought the dispatcher said there were no officers available," said the driver.
