price check: prev owned but new .44 Desert Eagle

A friends brother died. Left her a couple firearms. Other family members have called dibs on all but a Desert Eagle .44mag. New without the box. Aprox 15 yrs old. Never fired. Blued model.

Her son wants it but she has expressed a desire to get some money out of it. As much as I don't need another caliber to load, it is an impressive piece.

If I did decide to make an offer, I certainly would not want to grind her to the nub, but neither subsidize a sweet deal for her.

How about some guesstimates.

There's a DE 50AE in similar condition at tanners for either 799 or 899, forget which. I would offer her 800 since it has the blued finish.

I paid about $700 for mine about fifteen years ago, brand new in the box.

There are different generations of DEs as well and that can affect price. The current one can be switched between .50, .44 and .357. My old one can only do .44 and .357. That affects price as well.
