nice encounter with Verizon installer
Wife and I were using a simple service for just internet. That service is being bought out, and we needed to find another service. So we went with Verizon.
Verizon guy comes to install. He sees the HK P7 on my hip and asks if I'm LEO. I said, 'No, I just carry all the time for protection'. He was surprised about OC, but then he said that he has the license and normally carries an LCP. We talked about guns for a while and he seemed very pro-gun.
I've had three contractors now (AC unit, windows, and now Verizon) who all were gun owners, shooters, and had LTCF's.
We hear the numbers (~1,000,000) of PA LTCF's. It's another thing to actually MEET all these otherwise random folks who are pro-gun.

Re: nice encounter with Verizon installer
I work with countless Verizon folks who are pro-gun, even some of the flaming liberal union employees. A few years ago when I worked on-premises(in a Vz office), the gal that had the cubical behind me pretty much worshiped Obama/Hillary/etc, but she was pro-gun(as long as the crazies didn't have them). On Mondays her and I, and a couple of the other engineers, would talk about the gun stuff we bought over the weekend.
Unfortunately though, Verizon Corporate doesn't allow firearms on premises, or while on official duty if working in the field. ...but most of the local supervisors and managers have an unspoken rule otherwise. ...one of those don't ask, don't tell type things.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
Don't end up in my signature!

That's good to hear.
Whenever I go get our vehicles serviced at a large Toyota dealer around here, I've had several excellent conversations with a lot of shooting enthusiasts at that place. Both in sales and service departments. One time, a sales manager sat down next to me in the waiting room and asked for advice on getting a Ruger 357 mag.
I do believe that the tide is on our side.

Re: nice encounter with Verizon installer
I do believe that the majority of Americans are pro-gun, many are just not very vocal. I was a raging liberal turned Libertarian, and I've supported gun rights my entire life. Gun culture is a huge part of American life and I think a VERY vocal majority of the democratic party gives the entire party a bad name. I would think most dems are pro-gun, just maybe not to the extent as some of us.
I have tons of liberal friends. Some don't understand guns, but most support our rights. Others support gun ownership, but want more regulations, etc, etc. Either way, I don't know many people who straight want guns banned, which is a very very good thing. Even crazy gun-control nuts get gigantic smiles on their faces when shooting. That's always been my motto, "If you are against gun ownership, all you need to do is go out an shoot one a few times, you may change your mind".

If I were them and had to go in some houses I'd be carrying regardless of corp policy. Even the most run down crack house seems to have cable TV.

Re: nice encounter with Verizon installer
I rebuilt a chimney for a verizon lineman this spring,. He's also a gun guy. He said the same thing knight said about carrying on the job.
I asked him what if he has to work in a bad neighborhood. There's a code word for it but I cant remember what he said, but TWO people have to go. One to watch the other.
