Default My wife is getting her first handgun anyone have any suggestions?

Was looking at one of the charter arms in 38 or 44 special. I am thinking a revolver is the way to go. Any ideas would be appreciated.

After handling a bunch of pistols my wife came home with a G19.

    She loves it!

I would not choose it for her.

I would get her what she feels fits her and she can shoot.

Too many men choose weapons for their SO that just doesn't fit them.

    Just my op.

    Buy her a Kahr P9

I agree with 27hand. Let her fondle them and then choose what she thinks she can handle. How much shooting experience does she have?

they Charter arms 44 bulldog and 38 special are both nice revolvers. HOWEVER, both are ultralite for the calibers they shoot and might have a fairly unpleasant recoil for a novice shooter.

I would suggest having her try as many as you can prior to buying (including trying the triggers as revolvers can be pretty stiff).

If you are set on a revolver, try a Ruger Sp101. Reliable as hell, solid and 357 capable, with less of a recoil than the 2 you mentioned.
